First Day on the Ranch

Tuesday, July 5, was our first day on the ranch, Paradise Acres! We had to be there at 8:30 am; we met the owners at their house and then drove over to the saddling area. There were two other tourists there: one was from Indiana and was there a week and one was from England! She was in Montana for the whole month of July! It boggled my mind that they were both traveling by themselves, but they seemed able to take care of themselves!

Henderson was assigned to Little Man, a draft cross, on the first day.
Mama and her horse cheesing it up!

The whole family with our horses!

Me and Eddie

First, we saddled up and went for a short ride to get acclimated with our assigned horses. Then we loaded up and drove about thirty minutes to a more remote area of the ranch. Our assignment: push some bulls up to an area and then drive all the cattle back down. So much fun!

Henderson and I posing. You couldn't see anything but mountains and sky!

Henderson and Litte Man enjoying the views.

We headed back to their house for lunch. Henderson made a friend!

We went behind the house for the rest of the afternoon to move some more cattle. Mama and I both got a little dehydrated so we bailed early, ha! Dinner was included and they had some great meals!

We headed back home and went to sleep early! We were completely exhausted! Stay tuned for the next installment!
